Peer Review Process

The International Journal of Pedagogy and Learning is committed to conducting a thorough, transparent, and unbiased peer review process for quality and integrity of our scholarly publications.

The peer review process is an essential component of the manuscript evaluation process and plays a crucial role in assessing the originality, academic significance, methodology, and contribution of all submitted manuscripts.

Initial Editorial Evaluation

All submissions made to the journal first receive an initial editorial evaluation prior to being sent out for peer review.

In this stage, the editors will evaluate the submission for:

Its relevance to the aims and scope of the journal
Its connection to the discipline of pedagogy and learning
Its originality and scholarly contribution
Its basic compliance with the submission requirements
Academic quality

Any manuscripts that do not fall within the scope of the journal or do not satisfy its minimum requirements for submission may be rejected at this stage.

Peer Review

Submissions that are found to be satisfactory through the initial editorial evaluation are then sent for peer review by qualified experts within the discipline.

Reviewers will be asked to evaluate the manuscript according to criteria such as:

Originality and significance of the research
Research objectives and questions
Conceptual framework
Methodology
Evidence and its interpretation
Scholarly contribution
Presentation
Relevance to the journal's audience

Based on their evaluation, the reviewers will make a recommendation regarding the manuscript's acceptance or rejection.

Editorial Decision

In accordance with the peer-review process, the editor reaches an editorial decision based on the recommendations of the reviewers and the scholarly value of the paper.

Editorial decisions may include any of the following:

Accept
Minor Revision
Major Revision
Reject

In case of a revision decision, authors should consider the reviewers' comments carefully and resubmit the revised manuscript according to the deadline.

Reviewer Confidentiality

The journal values the confidentiality of the peer-review process. It is expected that the reviewers keep the papers received for reviewing as confidential and do not make personal gain from the knowledge obtained from them during the review process.

Commitment to Fairness and Integrity

Peer review is performed in a professional and objective way at the journal. The editorial decisions are made on the basis of scientific quality, relevance, novelty, and other qualities of the article; the decisions are not influenced by any personal features of the author (nationality, affiliation, gender, etc.).
